R.I.P.: Carole Arnold, Longtime Oklahoma City Radio Host

Longtime Oklahoma City talk radio host Carole Arnold, one of the last local news show hosts who focused on community topics and not politics, died Friday after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was 85. according to Oklahoman

Arnold worked for Clear Channel Communications, now iHeartRadio, for 20 years including an eight-year stint at the chain’s Oklahoma City news-talk station, KTOK.

During that time as host of Morning Magazine, Arnold was on the airwaves as listeners tuned in to follow live reporting on the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

KTOK ended Arnold’s show in 1996 as the station started transitioning away from local talk to syndicated programing.

She was later on the air with KNOR radio in Norman and then KOMA-1520 AM in the early 2000s when it switched from playing oldies music to challenging KTOK’s dominance in talk news.
