TALKRADIO 77WABC is proud to announce that the New York State Broadcasters Association (NYSBA) has awarded 77WABC with eight Excellence in Broadcasting Awards. Since its takeover by John Catsimatidis in March of 2020, the iconic call letters have gone through massive and ground-breaking programming changes. 77WABC has come out of the pandemic leading the industry in innovative programming and technological advancements, such as full audio/video capabilities in-studio and on location.
“I am proud of our talent and all station personnel that have worked hard to make 77WABC the station it once was,” Catsimatidis stated. “Our talent and staff are leaders in their field; our on-air personalities include the biggest names in New York. We’re just getting started. There is always more to come from the iconic 77WABC.”
NYSBA bestowed 77WABC with eight Excellence in Broadcasting awards in the following categories:
- Back the Blue – (Best Public Affairs Program - an all-day tribute to the NYPD)
- Cindy Adams Interviews former Gov. Cuomo- (Best Feature)
- Sid & Friends in the Morning - (Sid Rosenberg - Best Morning Show)
- Columbus Day Parade - (Best Live On Scene)
- Election Coverage - (Rita Cosby, Dominic Carter, Noam Laden)
- Radio Pays Tribute to Fallen Firefighter Timothy Klein - (Best Use of Digital)
- Curtis Sliwa: Closing of Lenny’s Pizza - (Best Personality, Social Media)
- Other Side of Midnight w/Frank Morano & guest William Shatner - (Best Podcast)
