Richmond-Wichita Radio: Todd Johnson To Manage Two Clusters


SummitMedia, LLC announced Todd Johnson to oversee the clusters in Richmond, Va. and Wichita, Kan.

Johnson has served as President of SummitMedia in Wichita since 2020 where he has consistently led his team of sales, marketing and programming experts to growth in ratings and revenue. Company leaders believe he can parlay his success there for the five stations and digital assets in Richmond.

“Todd has done an outstanding job developing our Wichita cluster and I am confident he will bring the same passion, dedication and leadership to Richmond,” said Summit Chairman and CEO Carl Parmer.

Johnson (right) began his career in broadcasting at KICT-95 in 1986 and worked for Great Empire Broadcasting until 2003. He was a Sales Manager for the Wichita Eagle, General Manager for KGSO and KQAM and Local Sales Manager at KWCH. Johnson returned to radio in 2016 when he was named GSM at Scripps in Wichita and GM by SummitMedia in 2020.

“I’m honored to assume this new role for SummitMedia and expand my role in the company,” Johnson said. “I look forward to working with a new team of broadcast and digital experts, while enhancing the products and services we deliver to our clients.”


Todd serves on several boards in including Wichita Festivals Inc., The Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition, The Wichita Metro Crime Commission, Crime Stoppers of Sedgwick County and the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.

📻SummitMedia Richmond stations include K 95 (WKHK), 103.7 Your Variety (WURV), Classic Rock 96.5 (WKLR), Awesome 100.9 (WJSR) and ESPN Richmond (WURV HD2).

📻SummitMedia Wichita stations include Radio Lobo 106.5 (KYQQ), T95 (KICT), 101.3 KFDI, 104.5 The Fox (KFXJ) and Classic Country AM1070 (KFTI).
