R.I.P.: Mark Jacobs, WYCT, WNRP News Voice In Pensacola

Pensacola's local radio station, WYCT Cat Country 98.7 FM, is mourning the loss of a member of their Cat Pak Morning Show.

According to WEAR TV3, newscaster Mark Jacobs passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Sunday.

Jacobs was a leader in the stations news department since 2018 and was recognized for his coverage of the terrorist attack at NAS Pensacola and Hurricane Sally.

Jacobs' work earned NewsRadio WNRP 92.3 the Edward R Murrow Award from the Florida Broadcasters Association for outstanding news coverage.

According to Cat Country, Jacobs suffered from a pancreatitis attack in May and was working to recover when things took a turn last week.
