With a new radio home in Milwaukee, Green Bay Packers broadcasts will debut on-air talent including Milwaukee Country WMIL 106.1 FM host Shanna Quinn while play-by-play team Wayne Larrivee and Larry McCarren return for their 24th season together, according to The Milwaukee Business Journal.
The Packers radio network switched its Milwaukee affiliate to WRNW 97.3 FM The Game after nine decades on WTMJ 620 AM, which will continue offering Packers programming outside the game broadcasts. The team’s new Milwaukee station is owned by radio and media giant iHeartMedia, which runs six radio stations in Milwaukee.
The Packers and iHeartMedia are reminding fans to reset their radio presets to the new frequency of 97.3 in metro Milwaukee. In addition, iHM is announcing the switch on its other Milwaukee stations, said Jeff Tyler, area president for iHeartMedia Multi-Platform Group in Wisconsin.
“We’re using all our Milwaukee brands to help the fan base understand there is a change,” Tyler said.
Beyond that, iHeartMedia is advertising on billboards, television and even via videos at Kwik Trip gas pumps, he said.

Quinn tweeted Monday that she’s the “first female ever on the Packers radio broadcast.”
Retired Packers fullback John Kuhn, who has a show on 97.3 The Game, will continue his sideline reporting and commentary role during the games.
Several other on-air talents, including some new ones for Packers broadcasts, will appear on the pregame and postgame lineup.
- Longtime Milwaukee sports announcer Dennis Krause and retired Packers receiver James Jones will host the pregame show with Mike Heller, a midday host on 97.3 The Game and sister station “The Game” (1070 AM) in Madison.
- Steve “Czabe” Czaban of The Game’s morning show will host a pregame show before Packers home games.
- A new postgame show will feature 97.3 The Game afternoon co-host Drew Olson and Bill Schmid, formerly of sports-radio station “The Fan” in Milwaukee.
- iHeartMedia also will launch Packers podcasts including “The Larrivee and Lepay Podcast” with Wayne Larrivee and Wisconsin Badgers radio announcer Matt Lepay, which starts Aug. 16.
WTMJ radio will continue to provide pre-game and post-game programming, including a new post-game fan reaction show that will start immediately after the conclusion of the games, said Steve Wexler, vice president and market manager for the station’s owner Good Karma Brands of Milwaukee.
Wexler provided these highlights of WTMJ and Good Karma’s coverage this season:
- “The Brett Favre Show.” The NFL and Packers Hall of Fame quarterback will join “Jen, Gabe and Chewy” Monday mornings at 7:30 on Good Karma’s WKTI-FM (“94.5 ESPN Milwaukee”) during the season. Favre’s insights and analysis will also be featured on WTMJ radio and 101.7 FM “The Truth” throughout the week.
- Good Karma is launching the “Tundra Trio Radio Network”, consisting of WTMJ, 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee (WKTI) and 100.5 ESPN Madison (WTLX-FM). The stations will be the home of pre-game and post-game shows, including “Green Bay Gameday,“ a three-hour pregame show prior to every regular season and playoff game hosted by Greg Matzek.
- The network’s post-game program will be hosted by Gabe Neitzel, Steve “The Homer“ True and Packers Hall of Famer Mark Tauscher. The show will give fans a chance to react immediately, as soon as the game is over.
“We are excited to offer new and innovative ways for fans to engage with their favorite team, something WTMJ has been proud to do for decades,” Wexler said.
