R.I.P.: Chester Pulliam, Longtime Arkansas Personality

Chester P
iHeartMedia has announced on that longtime Arkansas radio personality Chester Pulliam, known to listeners as “Chester P”, died Monday night while under hospice care.

Based in Northwest Arkansas, Pulliam was a longtime personality on Fort Smith classic rock station WICL Big Dog 95.9 for a number of years. He was also one of the mainstays on Northwest Arkansas’  KIGL 93.3 The Eagle, where he worked for over twenty years.

Pulliam is already receiving a number of tributes via social media, including one from personalities Jon Williams and Deek Kastner, who make up “94.9 Radio Jon/Deek”. The three worked together for a number of years, and Williams said Tuesday he will remember that time fondly.

“Chester was a big-hearted, music-loving, passionate guy who was, to us, a consummate pro and just all-around dependable, good guy,” Williams said on his show’s Facebook page. “We were lucky enough to work with Chester on the Eagle from 1998-2011 and will always consider him to be one of the hardest-working and best voices in Norhwest Arkansas radio.”
