Rob Roberts
Cumulus Media announces that it has signed Rob Roberts to a new multi-year contact extension as Vice President, Hot AC, for the company and Program Director of HotAC WRQX-FM Mix 107.3 in Washington, D.C.

Roberts joined Cumulus Media in 2006 as Operations Manager of WWWQ/Q100 and WNNX-FM/99X in Atlanta, GA. He added Program Director duties for Q100 in January 2008.

Prior to joining Cumulus, Roberts spent over 14 years as Program Director and Operations Manager of Clear Channel/iHeartMedia CHR Y100/WHYI-FM in Miami, FL, and as Regional Vice President, Programming for the company.

Mike McVay, Executive Vice President, Content & Programming, Cumulus Media and Westwood One, said: “Rob Roberts has shown his strength as a programmer who can turn around and maintain a radio station’s ratings. His work at Mix 107.3 (WRQX) is impressive. The station is a leader in D.C. and in the industry due in large part to Rob and how he manages a great team of great talent.”

Jake McCann, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Washington, D.C., said: “We are excited and lucky to have Rob Roberts continue to lead WRQX in our nation’s capital. Rob has done incredible job bringing MIX back into its position into as one of D.C.’s most listened to and highest-rated stations. Rob is a great coach and programmer and has the right vision for continued growth in the years to come. “

Roberts said: “The last two years have been some of the most exciting of my life, working alongside VP/Market Manager Jake McCann, Operations Manager Bill Hess, my brother from another mother, VP of Sales Ken Roberts, and SVP Dave Milner. I feel Cumulus D.C. is ready to own 2019 and beyond. A special thanks to Mike McVay who has been a touchstone throughout my career going back to the late ‘80’s. He was key in pulling a kid from Albuquerque and dropping me in Miami to show what I could do. I will be forever grateful.”
