JMS On How Radio Listening Has Changed with New Technologies

Jacobs Media Strategies will host a free webinar on the insights gained through Techsurvey over the past twelve years.

Techsurvey, the radio broadcasting industry’s largest online survey, is conducted by Jacobs Media Strategies every winter to gain insights into how radio listeners use technologies, gadgets, and platforms to consume media.

The webinar, hosted by Jacobs Media’s President, Fred Jacobs, will take place on Monday, December 19th at 2:00pm ET / 11:00am PT. It will examine how Techsurvey has measured how key media trends have evolved over time, including:
  • The impact of the “connected car” on audio consumption
  • How listeners use different devices to wake up
  • The resurgence of vinyl records
  • The declining impact of Pandora and rise of Spotify
  • The mobile revolution and the demise of the landline
  • The emergence of podcasting
  • The impact of social media on radio (and how radio can make the most out of it)

“Our Techsurveys have uncovered key trends and changes, including the cell phone only phenomenon, the emergence of mobile apps, and the impact on on-demand,” says Jacobs. “These surveys, supported by hundreds of stations across North America have helped broadcasters shape their digital strategies.”

Jacobs will also offer a preview of the issues we’ll be examining in Techsurvey13.
