NE Radio: Red Wolf To Acquire Four More Stations

Red Wolf Broadcasting Corp. has announced that it has reached an agreement to purchase four Davidson Media Group stations.

The stations are:
  • Hispanic WKKB Latina 100.3 FM Providence
  • Hispanic WSPR Power 1270 AM, Oldies WACM 1490 AM Springfield
  • Oldies WXCT 990 AM Hartford. 
Red Wolf will take over operations immediately under a Local Marketing Agreement, the sale is subject to FCC approval and for an undisclosed price. Included in the purchase are 5 radio towers and various real estate.

Red Wolf is owned by local Connecticut broadcaster John Fuller who said “I am very excited to expand my reach with the Davidson Stations and continue my rollout of being the radio voice of the Hispanic Boom”. He stated, that 1 out of 5 Lexus cars are bought by an Hispanic.

“All of the Davidson stations will be technically enhanced” Fuller noted, “The current Davidson employees will remain in place and will be given an opportunity to join our team when ownership change is approved.”

“There had never been a better time to be a local broadcaster, people are on the go and radio goes with them in the car, at work and radio has doubled its listening potential with online streaming”.

Fuller added, “I have a passion for the radio industry and my team thrives on being involved in the community”.

Red Wolf’s VP/Programming Brian Ram added, “We are live and local in the communities we serve and it’s an exciting time to grow our local company with 4 more stations of this caliber”.

Fuller started his first radio station WJJF at aged 21 in Hope Valley, Rhode Island. He owns and operates stations in Hartford including WMRQ 104.1 FM and Bomba Radio 97.1, 98.5, 99.5 and 104.5 as well as 5 stations in New London, CT including Station Of The Year  SoftAC WBMW 106.5 FM, Jammin WWRX 107.7 FM, News WJJF 94.9 FM, US Country 99.5 and KOOL 1180 AM WSKP. He is co-owner of Country 97.5 WTNN 97.5 FM in Burlington, Vermont.
