S-F Radio: MLB As, The Game Extend Broadcast Deal

The Oakland Athletics and flagship radio station KGMZ 95.7 FM The Game have extended their partnership for four years, guaranteeing that A’s baseball will be heard on The Game through at least the 2018 season.

The A’s and 95.7 first partnered in 2011. As part of the new agreement, The Game will again broadcast all 162 regular-season A’s games, select spring training games, and all A’s postseason contests, including the World Series.

Lead play-by-play broadcaster Ken Korach (20 years with Oakland) and his partner Vince Cotroneo (10 years) will continue to serve as the A’s primary broadcast team, while longtime A’s broadcaster Ray Fosse—entering his 30th consecutive season on A’s radio—will again join them during select games.

“We are extremely excited about the partnership extension with The Game,” said Ken Pries, A’s vice president of broadcasting and communications. “It’s been an amazing partnership so far, and we look forward to many more seasons of A’s baseball on 95.7 FM and all of the affiliates across the A’s Radio Network.”

“All of us at Entercom Communications are excited to extend the partnership between 95.7 The Game and the Oakland Athletics” said Steve DiNardo, Market Manager for Entercom San Francisco. “95.7 The Game has grown as a brand - experiencing consistent ratings and revenue growth during our partnership with The A’s and we are delighted to continue serving as the destination for Oakland A’s radio broadcasts for the next four seasons.”

The first spring training broadcast on 95.7 FM The Game will be on Saturday, March 7, at 12:05 p.m. PT vs. the Los Angeles Angels. All three games of the annual Bay Bridge Series—scheduled for April 2–4—will also be broadcast, with 2015 Opening Night set for Monday, April 6, at 7:05 p.m. PT against the Texas Rangers.
