D/FW Radio: WBAP's Alan Scaia Out Of I-C-U

Alan Scaia
The WBAP/KLIF reporter injured in a head-on collision on December 5th continues his recovery at Ft. Worth's John Peter Smith  Hospital. WBAP reports Alan Scaia has been moved out of the intensive care unit. His condition was last listed as serious.

"We are overwhelmed by the support Alan is receiving," said Rick Hadley, WBAP/KLIF news director. "People from all over the U.S. have been asking for an update on Alan's condition. He is continuing to get better. Out of respect for his family I cannot get into specifics about his injuries except to say that obviously he was seriously hurt and will take some time to get back up and around."

Texas DPS says Scaia, 33, was driving a WBAP/KLIF news unit when a Ford F250 pickup veered into his northbound lane on FM 51 about thirty miles outside Ft. Worth. The truck and the Toyota Camry Scaia was driving hit head on. Scaia was airlifted to JPS along with a passenger in the truck. The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to another hospital.
