Augusta Radio: Beasley’s WGAC Named ‘Station of the Year’

Harley Drew
News/Talk WGAC 580 AM/95.1 FM in Augusta, GA has been named Station of the Year by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.

Augusta’s broadcasting legend Harley Drew, the morning host for WGAC with Mary Liz Nolan, told the Augusta Chronicle the award means the station beat every station in Georgia including “the mighty Cox Media’s flagship station” WSB in Atlanta, which came in second place.

Drew, by the way, has been broadcasting for more than 50 years beginning in 1959 at WBRO-AM in Waynesboro, Ga., followed by WFNL-AM in Augusta, then 25 years at WBBQ-AM and FM before joining Beasley Broadcasting.
