TV Ratings: Fox News Channel Beats NBC, CBS In Primetime


FOX News Channel (FNC) ended the week of June 1st with 2.7 million weekday primetime viewers and 245,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo, surpassing NBC (2.6 million viewers) and CBS (2.1 million viewers), according to Nielsen Media Research Big Data + Panel. 

In Monday – Sunday primetime, FNC drew 2.3 million viewers, and in Monday – Sunday total day, FNC posted over 1.4 million viewers. CBS Evening News maintained its steady decline (3.7 million viewers), with the program posting its ninth consecutive week under 4 million viewers (including all weekday airings).


The Five led the week, capturing 3.3 million viewers and 318,000 in the 25-54 demo. During the 6 PM/ET hour, Special Report with Bret Baier averaged 2.5 million viewers and 207,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 7 PM/ET, The Ingraham Angle claimed 2.3 million viewers and 169,000 in the 25-54 demo. During the 8 PM/ET hour, Jesse Watters Primetime saw 3 million viewers and 243,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity delivered 2.5 million viewers and 230,000 in the 25-54 demo. During the 11PM/ET hour, FOX News @ Night with Trace Gallagher secured 1.5 million viewers and 179,000 in the 25-54 demo.



FNC’s flagship late-night program Gutfeld! (10 PM/ET) garnered 2.7 million primetime viewers and 274,000 in the 25-54 demo, besting NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1.3 million viewers and 237,000 in the 25-54 demo), NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers (772,000 viewers and 141,000 in the 25-54 demo), Comedy Central's The Daily Show (519,000 viewers and 181,000 in the 25-54 demo), HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher (432,000 viewers and 54,000 in the 25-54 demo) and Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (253,000 viewers and 96,000 in the 25-54 demo). Notably, the airings of CBS' Comics Unleashed posted 764,000 viewers and 114,000 in the 25-54 demo — down 10% with P2+ and down 15% with A25-54 vs. the prior week.



FNC’s daytime programs continued to outperform broadcast competition. America’s Newsroom (9AM-11AM/ET; 1.7 million viewers), The Faulkner Focus (11AM-12PM/ET; 1.7 million viewers), Outnumbered (12 PM/ET; 1.7 million viewers), America Reports (1PM-3PM/ET; 1.6 million viewers), The Story with Martha MacCallum (3-4PM/ET; 1.7 million viewers) and The Will Cain Show (4-5PM/ET; 2 million viewers) all outpaced NBC’s Today with Jenna & Sheinelle (1.4 million viewers) and ABC’s GMA3 (1.3 million viewers).



On Saturday: Kayleigh McEnany's Saturday In America (Saturdays, 10AM-12PM/ET) notched 1.5 million viewers, landing as the highest-rated cable news program of the day. My View with Lara Trump (Saturdays, 9PM/ET) followed, nabbing 1.3 million viewers. The Big Weekend Show (weekends, 5-8PM/ET) co-hosted by Tomi Lahren and Johnny Joey Jones and FOX News Live anchored by Aishah Hasnie (Saturdays, 12-2PM/ET) both averaged 1.3 million viewers. In primetime, Life, Liberty, & Levin (weekends, 8-9PM/ET) and FOX News Saturday Night (Saturdays, 10PM-11PM/ET) hosted by Jimmy Failla both garnered nearly 1.3 million viewers.

On Sunday:  Sunday Morning Futures (Sundays, 10 AM/ET) anchored by Maria Bartiromo delivered nearly 1.5 million viewers. The Big Weekend Show (weekends, 5-8PM/ET) posted 1.4 million viewers. The Sunday Briefing (Sundays, 11 AM/ET), anchored this week by Jacqui Heinrich, saw 1.1 million viewers. FOX News Live (Sundays, 12-2PM/ET) anchored by correspondent Mike Emanuel averaged 1.2 million viewers. In primetime, Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy (Sundays, 9 PM/ET) claimed the lead, clinching over 1.6 million viewers. Life, Liberty, & Levin (weekends, 8-9PM/ET) landed nearly 1.4 million viewers and One Nation with Brian Kilmeade (Sundays, 10PM/ET) drew nearly 1.5 million viewers.
