Jax Radio: WQIK's The Big Show Just Got Bigger

Jacksonville's New Country 99.1 WQIK has expanded its popular morning program "The Big Show" with the immediate addition of longtime radio personality Chumley, who joins hosts John, Megan, and Froggy weekdays from 5 to 10 a.m.

The move strengthens the station's flagship morning show with a familiar Jacksonville voice known for his deep local knowledge, music passion, and on-air chemistry.

"Adding Chumley to 'The Big Show' was a no-brainer," said Casey Carter, Program Director for iHeartMedia Jacksonville's WQIK. "He's an expert on all things Jacksonville, a music and radio lover in general, and an overall great human being. Chumley's strong rapport with John, Megan and Froggy is going to translate into a can't-miss show. We're all very excited for this next chapter in WQIK and Jacksonville radio."

Rick Everett, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeart Media Jacksonville, echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting Chumley's fit for the morning slot."We're thrilled to have Chumley join the WQIK team," Everett said. "He brings a great mix of fresh ideas and energy that will complement 'The Big Show' and add even more fun, chemistry and connection for our listeners each morning."

Chumley brings nearly three decades of radio experience to the role, having been with iHeartMedia since 1998. In addition to his new morning duties on WQIK, he will continue serving as Program Director and afternoon host at WPLA-FM (107.3 Planet Radio) in Jacksonville, hosting afternoons on 101.1 WJRR in Orlando, and contributing as an air personality for iHeart Classic Rock.

"WQIK has been the soundtrack of North Florida for generations," Chumley said. "To wake the city up on one of the nation's oldest running country stations is an absolute privilege. John, Megan and Froggy are legends for a reason, and I'm honored to add my voice to a team Jacksonville already loves. The Big Show just got bigger."
