Younger Demos Make It A Good News Week for Fox News Channel


During the week of April 1-7, FOX News Channel (FNC) secured its best week with cable news share in the A18-49 and A25-54 demo in over a year. 

In the 18-49 demo, FNC averaged 173,000 in weekday primetime securing 60% of the cable news share, its best since May 2022. 


In the 25-54 demo, FNC saw 275,000 viewers in weekday primetime securing 58% of the cable news share, the highest since March 2023. Notably, FNC outpaced CNN and MSNBC combined with viewers, A25-54 and A18-49 for the week. 

In primetime (8-11 PM/ET), FNC earned 1,907,000 viewers and 221,000 A25-54, commanding all of cable news with viewers. In total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1,250,000 viewers and 152,000 in the 25-54 demo, outpacing all of cable with viewers. 

This also marked the 13th consecutive week that FNC has finished first in all of cable with total day viewers. Additionally, FNC posted the top 14 shows in both the 18-49 and 25-54 demos in cable news. 

Notably, the network posted 81 of the top 100 cable news telecasts for the week. The Five averaged 3 million viewers and 239,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched show in cable news. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.1 million viewers and 186,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle at 7 PM/ET scored 2 million viewers and 188,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 8 PM/ET, Jesse Watters Primetime was the most-watched primetime program in cable news, delivering 2.5 million viewers and 253,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.3 million viewers and 284,000 with A25-54.


 
At 10 PM/ET, FNC’s late-night offering Gutfeld! averaged 2,110,000 viewers and 307,000 in the 25-54 demo, making it the most-watched cable news program in the younger demo. Gutfeld! topped all of the broadcast competition with viewers outpacing CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2,085,000 P2+), ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (1,511,000 P2+) and NBC’s The Tonight Show (1,301,000 P2+). Gutfeld! continued to outpace Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

FNC’s daytime lineup continued to surpass broadcast programs. Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,637,000 P2+), The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,542,000 P2+) and America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,537,000 P2+) all outranked ABC’s GMA3 (1,509,000 P2+), NBC’s Today with Hoda and Jenna (1,487,000 P2+), CBS’ The Talk (1,325,000 P2+) and NBC News Daily (1,221,000 P2+).

For the weekend, FNC led the cable news competition with viewers and A25-54 across total day and primetime. On Saturday, FOX & Friends Weekend (Saturday, 6-10 AM/ET) was the top show of the day with 1,224,000 viewers and 190,000 A25-54. Cavuto Live (Saturday, 10 AM - 12 PM/ET) followed with 1,156,000 viewers and 156,000 in the 25-54 demo. Life, Liberty & Levin (Saturday, 8 PM/ET) was the top show in primetime with 1,111,000 viewers. On Sunday, Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday, 10 AM/ET) was the top show of the weekend with 1,537,000 viewers and 168,000 in the 25-54 demo. In primetime, Life, Liberty & Levin (Sunday, 8 PM/ET) was most-watched with 1,272,000 viewers. MediaBuzz (Sunday, 11 AM/ET) secured 1,205,000 viewers and 129,000 in the 25-54 demo.
