Roger Ailes' Attorney: "He'll Be Back"

Roger Ailes
Former Fox News chief Roger Ailes reportedly called the NY Daily News’ MediaBlast column written by Don Kaplan Monday — to complain about a headline.

“I was hoping you would be a gentleman and apologize,” Ailes said, citing MediaBlast’s Sunday column, which compared the latest allegations of sexual harassment against him with the decline and salacious details behind the fall of Viacom chief Sumner Redstone.

The print headline he hated: “Gropey old men.”

The column was sparked by sordid new allegations in separate lawsuits filed against both men last week. The new Ailes suit, filed last Tuesday by Fox 5 reporter Lidia Curanaj, alleged that the news boss sexually harassed her when she applied for a job at Fox News Channel.

“Roger Ailes called the paper because he wanted to make clear that he vehemently denies the ludicrous allegations that were lodged against him by Ms. Curanaj,” Ailes attorney Mark Mukasey said in a statement. “Her complaint is a laughable stunt. And Roger should not be compared to anybody else. He’s an icon, a legend, a visionary — and he’ll be back.”

Ailes is currently fighting two sexual harassment suits.

Allegations against him include asking female employees to twirl in front of him to show off their bodies, making lewd comments and in some cases, sexual advances.
