Hattiesburg MS Radio: Fire Forces WFOR Off-Air

iHeartMedia is working to return Sports WFOR 1400 AM to the air after a transmitter fire this week.

"There is no time table of getting the station back on the air at this point," said Jackson Walker, Senior Vice President of programming for iHeart Media. "The building was a total loss, and the fire marshal is still investigating."

Walker also said that listeners can still tune in through streaming services with iHeartRadio.

The fire on Tuesday night destroyed the WFOR station on 7th Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday.  The cause for the fire is under investigation.
