Grand Rapids Radio: The Brew Rocks WBFX

As of last Friday, The Brew — a new classic rock radio station — has begun broadcasting at Grand Rapids’ WBFX 101.3 FM and online.

The station will stick to the classics, playing bands like Aerosmith, Van Halen, AC/DC and Pearl Jam.

According to grbj.com, The Brew's name is inspired by Grand Rapids’ recent crowning as Beer City, U.S.A.

“With this being Beer Week and with Grand Rapids being Beer City, U.S.A., there is no better time to make this move,” said Tim Feagan, The Brew station manager. “There’s nothing better than having a brew with your favorite tunes!”

The Brew's new on-air lineup features a return to the market for morning host “Puddin,” on from 6-10 a.m., formerly of WSNX 104.5 FM, and for mid-day host Matt Walker, on from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., who worked at WSNX and WKLQ.

New to West Michigan and taking the afternoon slot from 3-8 p.m. is Aly, who most recently was with rock station WKLS in Atlanta, and nights will be hosted by “B-Side,” who is the only returnee from the previous WBFX 101.3 FM staff, which Clear Channel Radio previously ran as 101.3 The Fox Rocks.

  1. I am 62 years old and like your taste in music. I do not however like your attitude. Everytime you make a comment about another station and make fun of it I switch. Denagating other stations is very immature and low. It's too bad because I do like your music.

    1. That is too bad "Mr. 62 year old Anonymous". I think I understand why you chose to post as Anonymous. On air picking at each other between radio stations is great, and I for one appreciate "jabs" between radio stations. This practice has gone on for ever and more than likely will continue. Get over yourself with your threats of leaving.
