At WABC Greer did middays and overnight. Given WABC's 50,000 watt clear channel signal, Greer became a popular all-night disc jockey heard on more than 38 states punching his way through famous tongue twister commercials for an all night clothing store called Dennison's in Union, New Jersey.
Greer also spent time with New York City's WCBS-FM in 1973. Died in October 1996.

The secret of these Dennison commercials is that they were written by Charlie Greer himself. I know this because he was my father and I recall many calls between him and "the old man" discussing the commercials. He had a recording device attached to the phone that was years ahead of its time so that he could record their "stream of consciousness" conversations about the ads.
