Albuquerque Radio: Jon Lurie New PD At KMGA

Cumulus announces that Jon Lurie has been named Program Director of heritage AC KMGA 99.5 Magic FM. This marks a return to the Southwest for Lurie, who previously programmed Cumulus’ Tucson stations for more than 10 years. Prior to that, he had stops at KMLE in Phoenix and WQIK in Jacksonville.

Jeff Berry, Vice President/Market Manager of Cumulus Albuquerque said: “We are so excited to have Jon join our team.  He has the experience, knowledge and track record to take KMGA to new heights.”

Kris Abrams, FM Operations Manager for Cumulus added: “Jon understands a heritage brand like KMGA and approaches it with a fresh perspective.”

Emily Boldon, Vice President, Stratus Music Programming and Corporate Program Director for Cumulus said: “We are excited to welcome Jon to our Cumulus programming team in Albuquerque. KMGA is a fantastic heritage station, and I have faith that, in Jon’s experienced and capable hands, Magic will continue to grow and succeed.”

Lurie said: "I'm very happy and excited to be joining Cumulus in Albuquerque and working with Mike McVay, Emily Boldon, Jeff Berry, Kris Abrams and the rest of the team. We're gonna make some "Magic" in the Duke City!"

Lurie’s first day with KMGA will be March 16th. In addition to programming the station, he will be on the air daily using the name “Jon Allen”.
