TV Ratings: MS NOW Off To A Slow start


FOX News Channel (FNC) saw weekly increases in primetime and total day viewers during the week of November 10, while CNN and MS Now both saw decreases, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel.
Week-over-week, MS Now was down 9% with total day viewers (635,000 viewers) and down 23% with primetime viewers (966,000 viewers). 

In Monday - Sunday primetime FNC nabbed 2.2 million viewers and 191,000 in the 25-54 demo. Across total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.5 million viewers and 129,000 in the 25-54 demo. Year-to-date with weekday primetime viewers, FNC (3,237,000 viewers) continues to lead CBS (3,154,000 viewers) and NBC (3,077,000 viewers).


The Five averaged 3.7 million viewers and 291,000 in the 25-54 demo, leading cable news across the board. Additionally, The Five led NBC’s Law and Order (3.5 million viewers) and The Voice (3.5 million viewers). At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.8 million viewers and 246,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.6 million viewers and 216,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. On Monday November 10, The Ingraham Angle’s interview with President Trump posted 3.1 million viewers, the show’s top show of the quarter. Jesse Watters Primetime commanded 2.9 million viewers and 250,000 in the 25-54 demo at 8 PM/ET. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.6 million viewers and 221,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.5 million viewers.

FNC’s late-night hit Gutfeld! (weekdays, 10 PM/ET) averaged 2.6 million viewers and 261,000 in the 25-54 demo continuing to outpace the broadcast competition including ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2.3 million viewers), CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2.1 million viewers) and NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1.3 million viewers).


FNC continued to see its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition. The Will Cain Show (weekdays, 4 PM/ET; 2,188,000 viewers) led NBC’s Today Third Hour (2,059,000 viewers) and CBS Mornings (1,985,000 viewers). The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,980,000 viewers), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,976,000 viewers), Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,955,000 viewers), America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,812,000 viewers) and The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,812,000 viewers) all led NBC’s Today with Jenna and Friends (1,410,000 viewers) and NBC News Daily (1,356,000 viewers).

On Saturday:  Kayleigh McEnany’s Saturday in America (Saturday, 10 AM - 12 PM/ET) was the most-watched cable news show of the day with 1.3 million viewers. FOX & Friends Weekend (weekends, 6-10 AM/ET) followed with 1.2 million viewers. In primetime, My View with Lara Trump (Saturday, 9 PM/ET) and Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) both posted over 1 million viewers.

On Sunday:  Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday, 10 AM/ET) was the number one cable news show of the weekend with 1.5 million viewers. In primetime, Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) led the way with 1.1 million viewers. The Sunday Briefing (Sunday, 11 AM/ET) hosted by Peter Doocy drew 1.2 million viewers.

📺BROADCAST EVENING NEWS


The week saw a continued post-election normalization for the major broadcast evening newscasts, with audiences stabilizing after the off-year election spikes of early November. 

According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, ABC's World News Tonight with David Muir held onto its top spot in total viewers and the key Adults 25–54 demo, averaging 7.412 million total viewers and 912,000 A25-54 viewers. This marked a +3% rebound in total viewers from the prior week (November 3, impacted by the Disney-YouTube TV carriage dispute) but a -3% dip in the demo. Year-over-year (vs. the week of November 11, 2024), it was up +2% in total viewers while down -5% in the demo.

NBC's Nightly News with Tom Llamas came in second across both metrics, averaging 5.892 million total viewers and 792,000 A25-54 viewers—up +4% and +2%, respectively, week-over-week, buoyed by ongoing demo gains from the carriage issue affecting ABC. Year-over-year, it rose +6% in total viewers and was flat in the demo. 

CBS's Evening News with John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois finished third but posted the strongest week-over-week growth, up +6% in total viewers to 4.512 million and +4% in the demo to 612,000 A25-54 viewers. Compared to 2024's same week, it gained +3% in total viewers but dipped -2% in the demo.



📺BROADCAST MORNING SHOWS


NBC News’ TODAY was the number one morning show outright last week, marking its third consecutive total viewer win and seventh victory in the last eleven weeks. TODAY delivered its largest audience in 44 weeks (since January 6, 2025) and remained the only morning show to increase its total viewer delivery versus both the prior week and prior year.

TODAY posted its biggest total viewer advantage over Good Morning America in 46 weeks (since December 23, 2024) and its widest lead over CBS Mornings in 45 weeks (since December 30, 2024). Season to date, TODAY ranks #1 across the board among total viewers, A25-54, and A18-49.

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

TODAY averaged 3.136 million total viewers, beating GMA by +401,000 (+15%) and leading CBS by +1.151 million (+58%). This marks TODAY’s third consecutive total viewer win and seventh in the last eleven weeks.
  • Total viewership reached a 44-week high (best since 1/6/25).
  • TODAY’s advantage over GMA was the largest in 46 weeks (since 12/23/24) and over CBS the largest in 45 weeks (since 12/30/24).
  • Week over week, TODAY was the only morning program to grow in total viewers (+87,000, up +3%), widening its advantage vs. GMA by 51% and CBS by 11%.
  • Year over year, TODAY was the only show to grow its total audience (+316,000, +11%), while doubling its lead over CBS and expanding its lead over GMA by more than 50x (+401,000 vs. +8,000 prior year).

TODAY averaged 646,000 A25-54 viewers, beating GMA by +176,000 (+38%) and leading CBS by +353,000 (+121%).  TODAY has been the #1 morning show among A25-54 viewers for 102 consecutive weeks.
  • A25-54 viewership hit a 40-week high (best since 2/3/25).
  • TODAY’s advantage over CBS was the largest in 45 weeks (since 12/30/24).
  • Week over week, TODAY grew +2% (+15,000) and expanded its demo lead over CBS by 12%.
  • Year over year, TODAY improved its A25-54 advantage vs. CBS by 46% (+353,000 vs. +242,000 prior year).
