During the week of March 31 - April 6, FOX News Channel’s (FNC) The Five made history as the first program in cable news to register over four million viewers for 20 consecutive weeks.
In total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.7 million viewers and 224,000 in the 25-54 demo. In primetime (8 PM-11 PM/ET), FNC averaged 2.8 million viewers and 334,000 in the 25-54 demo.
Additionally, FNC outpaced all of television during the 4 PM/ET hour on Wednesday during President Trump’s tariff speech with 3.3 million viewers outpacing ABC and CBS with each saw 1.3 million viewers and NBC which lagged behind with under 1 million viewers during special coverage of the speech.
FOX News has now garnered the top 890 cable news telecasts since the election. In weekday primetime, FNC (3.3 million viewers) once again outpaced NBC (3.1 million viewers) and ABC (2.8 million viewers).
For the week, The Five averaged 4.2 million viewers and 459,000 in the 25-54 demo, leading cable news in all categories. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 3.1 million viewers and 346,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.9 million viewers and 330,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. At 8 PM/ET, Jesse Watters Primetime delivered 3.7 million viewers and 422,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 3 million viewers and 360,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.7 million viewers and 271,000 in the 25-54 demo.
At 10 PM/ET, FNC’s late-night offering Gutfeld! secured 3.2 million viewers and 419,000 with A25-54. Gutfeld! once again topped the broadcast competition including CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2,015,000 viewers; 295,000 A25-54) and NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1,171,000 viewers; 264,000 A25-54).
FNC continued to see a number of its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition. The Will Cain Show (weekdays, 4 PM/ET; 2,400,000 viewers), Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 2,259,000 viewers), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 2,048,000 viewers), Harris Faulkner’s The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 2,041,000 viewers), The Story with Martha MacCallum (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 2,038,000 viewers) and America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 2,000,000 viewers) all led CBS Mornings (1,978,000 viewers), NBC’s Today Third Hour (1,840,000 viewers), ABC’s GMA3 (1,334,000 viewers), NBC’s Today with Jenna & Friends (1,189,00 viewers) and NBC News Daily (1,140,000 viewers) with viewers.
On Saturday: Life, Liberty & Levin (weekends, 8 PM/ET) was the most-watched show of the day with 1.6 million viewers. FOX News Live (weekends, 10 AM -2 PM/ET) was number one in the 25-54 demo with 185,000 viewers. The Big Weekend Show (weekends, 6-8 PM/ET) commanded 1.3 million viewers and 138,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, My View with Lara Trump posted 1.3 million viewers and 151,000 in the 25-54 demo.
On Sunday: the top was of the day was Sunday Morning Futures, which was guest-hosted by Jackie DeAngelis, with 1.8 million viewers and 232,000 in the 25-54 demo. Life, Liberty & Levin was the number one show in primetime with 1.8 million viewers and 186,000 in the 25-54 demo. At 9 PM/ET, Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy commanded 1.7 million viewers and 176,000 in the 25-54 demo.

- “World News Tonight” improved on the previous week in all key demos — Total Viewers (+2%/+175,000 – 7.587 million vs. 7.412 million), Adults 25-54 (+2%/+22,000 – 1.045 million vs. 1.023 million) and Adults 18-49 (+5%/+36,000 – 730,000 vs. 694,000) — hitting 4-week highs across the board, since w/o 3/3/25.
- “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (6.180 million, 907,000 and 602,000, respectively) by407 million Total Viewers, by 138,000 Adults 25-54 and by 128,000 Adults 18-49.
- For the week, “World News Tonight” (7.587 million, 1.045 million and 730,000, respectively) beat “CBS Evening News” (3.927 million, 558,000 and 371,000, respectively) by 3.660 million Total Viewers, by 487,000 Adults 25-54 and by 359,000 Adults 18-49.
Both programs experienced gains in total viewers and the key Adults 25-54 demographic, which is highly valued by advertisers. In contrast, CBS Mornings saw declines in both metrics compared to the prior week.
Per Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day data, GMA drew an average of 2.778 million total viewers and 518,000 A25-54 viewers. Week-over-week, the show posted a +7% increase in total viewers and a +12% jump in the demo, making it the only morning broadcast to achieve double-digit growth in either category.
Today held steady in second place for total viewers with 2.614 million and maintained its top spot in the A25-54 demo with 627,000 viewers. It saw a +4% uptick in total viewers and a +3% rise in the demo compared to the previous week. However, year-over-year, Today slipped by -5% in total viewers and -6% in the demo.
Rounding out the trio, CBS Mornings attracted 1.978 million total viewers and 344,000 A25-54 viewers. The show experienced a slight -1% drop in total viewers and a -6% decline in the demo week-over-week. Compared to the same period last year, CBS Mornings fell by -9% in total viewers and a significant -24% in the demo.
