As the fears and confusion mount in the wake of the COVID19 (Corona) Virus, Sun Broadcast Group announced its plan today to protect its workforce across the country through a new Smart-Work initiative.
Employees across SBG’s five nationwide locations began a phased transfer into a telework scenario until at least April. The company will continue to stagger its team members day by day until all are securely and technologically situated in their homes. The company expects the process complete by this Friday, March 20th.
Sun’s Smart-Work initiative is modeled after so many great telework programs across the country. It allows business to remain uninterrupted for all staff, clients and station affiliates while leveraging technology to allow a more connected, mobile workplace. In order to accomplish this strategy SBG team members are all now working on complete cloud-based, highly secure virtual systems. Daily online video huddles connect the teams face to face, and operations software like counterpoint, ACT1 and SBG’s financial tools have all been modified and tested for stability from each remote location.
SBG President and Founder Jason Bailey commented, “Anyone who knows me, Julio, Danno or Laura, knows that our team IS our family. The moment the Covid19 threat began to grow we knew that we needed an incredible plan to protect them that allowed us to stay open and operate at full capacity. Our IT, programming and operations teams, along with so many others, sprang into action to make this plan work quickly. Rest assured…we will absolutely continue to serve our clients without missing a beat while keeping those close to us safe until this threat passes.”
