O'Loughlin been in the radio industry fro 36 years and worked for Cumulus/Ft. Smith, AR, Pearson Broadcasting/Ft. Smith-Paris-Hot Springs-Mena, AR, Journal/Springfield, MO, Citadel/Little Rock and Elkhead Broadcasting Ft. Smith, AR before going to Elmira-Corning to work for Finger Lakes Radio in Dunkirk-Fredonia, NY, then Backyard Broadcasting's Elmira cluster in 2009 (sold to Community Broadcasters in 2013).
"It is bittersweet as I turn the page to a new chapter in my life. Broadcasting is and will always be part of my life regardless of what retirement brings. I cherish the moments and memories with so many professionals, helping so many people throughout the years and the personal fulfillment with all the community outreach," said O'laughlin.
“It’s been an honor to work with Smitty for the past years. His leadership has propelled Elmira to great success. His tireless work is much appreciated by all of us at Community Broadcasters,” said Community Broadcasters LLC Pres./CEO Jim Leven.
Community Broadcasters LLC co-owner Bruce Mittman added, “Smitty has been the consummate professional, it’s been a pleasure working with him for the past several years. Smitty has done a stellar job assembling and leading a great team in Elmira, we’ll miss not only his great leadership skills, but his sense of humor,” CBLLC co-owner Bruce Mittman said.
