iHeartMedia Tampa Bay announced Tuesday a new multi-year broadcast agreement with the Tampa Bay Lightning to broadcast games on WFLA 970 AM, beginning with the start of the 2014 – 2015 season.
The agreement will run through the 2016 – 2017 season.
970 WFLA will carry all Tampa Bay Lightning regular season and postseason games as well as select Lightning pre-season games. In addition, iHeartMedia station WHNZ 1250 AM will broadcast all Tampa Bay Storm Arena Football games. Also, Sports WDAE 620 AM will provide expanded team coverage on the iHeartMedia sports talk station.
“We are extremely excited to have renewed our partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning,” said Sam Nein, Market President, iHeartMedia Tampa Bay.
“The Lightning are one of the most respected brands in the Tampa Bay market and one of the premiere professional sports franchises in America. We are excited and proud to continue working with an organization that is as committed to our local community as they are to winning another Stanley Cup for their large loyal fan base."
