Future Publishing has bought NewBay Media, the owner of over 35 publications, for $13.8 million.
The purchase includes NewBay Media's business-to-business brands like Broadcasting & Cable, which covers the television industry, and music-focused Music Week, Bass Player and Guitar World.
NewBay Media also owns a number of conferences, events and data services in the US and UK.
The acquisition means Future now owns over 100 brands across print, online and events, in the music, gaming, photography, home, field sports and technology categories. Some of Future's brands include TechRadar and PC Gamer.
“This acquisition strengthens our presence in the US, and together with our recent UK acquisition expands our market leadership in music and consumer electronics,” Zillah Byng-Thorne, CEO of Future plc, told the UK's Press Gazette.
