NYC Radio: 77WABC “Backs the Blue” with All-Day Tribute

77WABC’s Back The Blue featured the biggest names in New York City law enforcement as New York’s #1 News/Talk station dedicated an entire day to honoring the brave men and women in law enforcement.

The annual event began with a Press Conference at which 77WABC Owners John and Margo Catsimatidis surprised the crowd by announcing they are donating $1M in digital advertising across all Red Apple Group digital assets for a law enforcement recruitment campaign. Red Apple Group digital assets include the websites of the Red Apple Media-owned radio stations, 77WABC, New York, WLIR-FM, Long Island, and WRCR, Rockland County.

Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media and 77WABC, opened the press conference and praised the work of New York’s dedicated police force. Sid Rosenberg, host of New York’s #1 News/Talk morning show, Sid & Friends In The Morning, and a known supporter of the NYPD, served as Master of Ceremonies. Speakers included New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, DEA President Scott Munro, NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper, and more.

Following the press conference, a Law Enforcement Roundtable hosted by 77WABC’s Dominic Carter was videotaped in WABC’s Studio 77, a state-of-the-art audio/video facility, for on-demand viewing at www.wabcradio.com. In addition to Carter, Roundtable participants were John Catsimatidis, Sid Rosenberg, former NYPD detective and Advisor to the NY State Republican Party Mike Sapraicone, Scott Munro, retired NYPD Sergeants Rory Capra and Peter Panuccio, plus others.

Highlights of the day are posted on 77WABC’s You Tube channel and social media.

Catsimatidis stated, “Back The Blue is our way of thanking the men and women in law enforcement who often risk their lives to keep our families and our businesses safe. We owe them our respect, trust, and gratitude. We need a strong police force and that is why I am helping them recruit the best New York City has to offer.”
