MLS viewership for regular-season weekend matches in 2025 rose 29% year-over-year, with 3.7 million global aggregate viewers across 12-15 games per weekend, mostly in primetime, according to data shared with Sports Business Journal.
This marks the first public viewership insight, covering Apple TV, Fox, FS1, TSN/RDS in Canada, and EA FC Mobile in-game simulcasts, including English and Spanish broadcasts.
The figure excludes Leagues Cup and midweek games, which likely draw fewer viewers.
Direct comparisons to other leagues are not possible due to differing methodologies. “We’re bullish on this number. We’re happy with what we’re seeing,” said MLS SVP/Media Seth Bacon, commenting publicly on the MLS-Apple data for the first time as the postseason begins.
