Charlotte Radio: WBT Prod Voice Joe McLane Retires

Joe McLane has spent the past four decades in broadcasting and working on his craft.

He spent nearly half of those 40 years on the radio in Charlotte for WBT 1110 AM / 99.3 FM. His last day is Friday.

His official job title is production director, but he’s more of a story teller. He carefully crafts commercials for clients.

"It's always heard and remembered differently based on your own life experiences,” he said.

After his final shift, McLane is moving to Ireland. A country he and his wife fell in love with.

"It's just a beautiful country and a beautiful place to live,” he said.

McLane hopes to get involved with a radio station in Ireland when he relocates there in a few months.
