Atlanta Radio: WSB's Erik Erickson Sidelined

Erik Erickson
WSB 750 AM / 95.5 FM host  Erick Erickson, host of 'Atlanta's Evening News' every weekday 5pm to 7pm, has announced that he has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition.

Erickson announced the news to the public on this blog at 'The Resurgent', where he posted the details of the serious medical condition.

“Over the course of the past few weeks my lungs have been filling with blood clots,” he stated in his open letter. “It is rather sobering to have doctors tell you that you should be dead.”

Erickson is also the founder of RedState gatherings, which started in 2009, and became the focus of polarizing opinions when he banned Trump from attending in 2015 over Trump’s comments about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

According to a posting on the WSB website, he has been named as “a voice — perhaps the voice — of Republicans working to derail a Donald Trump presidential nomination” according to an article in the AJC, and in his letter explained the reason that he has been silent recently, and may be so in the days to come.

“Ecclesiastes says there is a time to heal and a time to be silent. My time for both has come,” he said.

WSB Program Director, Pete Spriggs, is unsure of when Erickson will return to air for his 5pm-to-7pm show, but is encouraged by word from Erickson that he could be back on by the end of this week.
