If you want to be at Super Bowl LIX to see the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs, get ready to dig deep into your wallet, reports The Philadelphia Business Journal.
Excluding ticketing fees, the price just to get into the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for the Feb. 9 Super Bowl showdown between the Eagles and Chiefs was $5,756 as of Monday morning, according to online ticket marketplace TickPick.
That figure is less than the $8,188 get-in price for last year's Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl in Las Vegas the day after that matchup was set.
TickPick reports the average ticket price on its platform is $7,388 – 27% more than the 2023 Super Bowl featuring the Chiefs and Eagles, when the average price was $5,795.
This year's game, according to TickPick, currently ranks as the second most expensive Super Bowl on record behind only last year's Super Bowl that had an average ticket price of $9,136.The last Super Bowl to generate an average ticket price above $7,000 was the 2021 game, which saw fans pay an average of $7,046 on the secondary market to watch the Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa.
Ticketing technology company Victory Live has the average ticket price for Super Bowl LIX at $9,092 across the secondary market as of Monday afternoon, which it said represents an 18% increase compared to the same timeframe in 2023 when the Chiefs and Eagles were preparing for their first Super Bowl meeting.
At ticket marketplace StubHub, the range for two Super Bowl tickets together starts at $4,668 each for seats in section 632, row 24. The top ticket price of $33,994 gets the buyer two seats next to each other at the 50-yard line in row 12 of section 142.
Shortly after their NFC Championship Game victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, the Eagles and On Location, the hospitality provider of the National Football League, launched official Super Bowl LIX ticket packages for Eagles fans. Those weekend packages start at $6,605 per person and go as high as $21,505 per person.
The packages include gameday tickets with access to an official Eagles team party, chef-curated cuisine inspired by the city of New Orleans, musical entertainment, and meet-and-greets with NFL legends. Some of the packages include hotel rooms and airfare.
