iHeartMedia San Francisco has announced Sharon “Shay” Frank has been named Program Director of 106.1 KMEL in the Bay Area. She will still be hosting Middays, Monday-Friday as well. As Program Director, Shay will be responsible for programming, social and digital strategy, and she’ll still be heard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on KMEL.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Shay began her journey at 106.1 KMEL as an intern while attending UC Berkeley. After graduating, she held positions in promotions and on-air, ultimately becoming music director in 2013.
“I am truly honored and excited to take on this new role at KMEL, a station with such a rich history and deep connection to the community,” said Sharon “Shay” Frank. “Working alongside a team of exceptionally talented individuals, I am committed to building on our legacy while driving innovation and creating meaningful connections with our listeners and clients.
