Spotify has established the first-ever Creative Milestone Awards. Joe Rogan and Audiochuck's "Crime Junkie" receiving the highest accolades from Spotify.
These awards are assessed quarterly, recognizing podcasters who surpass specific streaming benchmarks on the platform. The initial recipients are awarded plaques in three categories based on their global lifetime streams: bronze for 100 million streams, silver for 250 million streams, and gold for 500 million streams.
This initiative represents Spotify's first public disclosure of streaming figures for podcasters, though only at these specific levels. While music remains the dominant force in terms of streams, with Taylor Swift being the most-streamed artist in 2024, amassing over 26.6 billion streams, podcast episodes offer a different engagement metric due to their length compared to songs.

The introduction of the Creator Milestone Awards coincides with Spotify's rollout of new video and monetization features at the start of 2025. From this month, the Spotify Partner Program will not only share ad revenue but also compensate video-podcast creators based on watch time from Premium subscribers.
Currently, the only members of the gold tier, with over 500 million streams, are "The Joe Rogan Experience," which continues to lead the podcast charts on Spotify despite no longer being exclusive, and "Crime Junkie," a beloved true-crime podcast hosted by Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat.
