Orlando Radio: Briggs To Manage TV, Meder Radio For CMG

Industry veteran Paul Briggs has been named vice president and general manager of Orlando TV for Cox Media Group. In his new role, Briggs will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all station departments and functions, including news, sales, marketing, production, programming, community affairs and more for WFTV and WRDQ.

With more than 20 years of broadcast experience, Briggs has a track record for driving top results in high-performing markets. His successful career includes sales and leadership roles in Charlotte, Memphis and Atlanta. Most recently, he served as the VP of content and broadcast operations for CMG Atlanta, overseeing the market’s TV, radio and newspaper brands.

With the appointment of Briggs to his new leadership role, CMG also announced that Jason Meder will continue to lead Orlando Radio as vice president and general manager. He joined the CMG team in 2002, serving as the director of sales in Tampa before assuming the role as general manager in Orlando in 2018.
