John Carter |
John Carter Ruttle, who was born in 1949, died on Wednesday. For decades, he worked at many area radio stations using the air name "John Carter."
In the 1970s, he was the "morning man" on WENE Radio in Endicott when the station had a popular Top 40 format. He later went on to co-host the morning shows with Chris O'Connor on several other local stations.
O'Connor recalled working with Carter on WAAL, WMRV, WMXW and WLTB. On Thursday afternoon, she said "we worked as a team."
After Carter retired from daily broadcasting, he continued to be involved in the business, recording radio and television commercials for local clients.
Carter also worked at radio stations in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Connecticut before arriving in the Binghamton area, according to WNBF Radio
