NYC Radio: Craig Carton Gets Thrown Under the Bus

Craig Carton
Craig Carton’s co-conspirator in an alleged $4.6 million ticket-selling scheme threw the radio personality under the bus on Thursday.  According to The NY Post, Michael Wright claims that the former WFAN morning host directed him to use investors’ money to pay off Carton’s personal expenses.

“At Craig Carton’s instruction and with the purpose of satisfying his debt to me and others, I arranged for transfers of over $550,000,” Wright told a Manhattan federal judge while pleading guilty to wire fraud.

Under his plea deal, Wright, 42, an employee of Manhattan strip club Sapphire, can expect to receive 21 to 27 months in prison instead of the 20 years he faced.

The feds say Carton, who is set to go to trial Oct. 29, Wright and a third man used $4.6 million in investor funds to repay other investors and to pay off personal expenses, including $600,000 in Carton’s gambling debts.
