Nashville Radio: Predators' Broadcast Teams Change

The Predators' broadcast teams on Fox Sports Tennessee and WPRT 102.5-FM The Game will change for the 2017-18 season.

Former Predators goaltender Chris Mason will become the full-time color analyst on local television broadcasts with play-by-play announcer Willy Daunic. Mason previously appeared on the Predators’ television and radio broadcasts on a part-time basis.

Stu Grimson, who served as the Predators’ television analyst for the past three seasons, will not return. Before transitioning to television, Grimson held the same role on the radio for six seasons.

“Thanks to the players, coaches and the fine citizens of Smashville for all the wonderful memories gained over the last nine years,” Grimson said in an email to The Tennessean.

“I wish my co-workers on the Fox Sports Tennessee broadcast team the very best going forward. As I move on to other things, I benefited greatly from working with the best crew in the business!”

WPRT 102.5 FM (100 Kw)
Hal Gill, an NHL veteran of 1,108 games and former Predators defenseman, will join play-by-play man Pete Weber on 102.5-FM. Gill replaces former Predators assistant and associate coach Brent Peterson, who will be a part of the station's pre- and post-game shows.

Kara Hammer, previously an anchor at WKRN-TV, will become the rink-side reporter for home games. Lyndsay Rowley will maintain that role during road games, but will host pre- and post-game shows with Terry Crisp on Fox Sports Tennessee during games at Bridgestone Arena.
