Beasley Media Group has announced the passing of 93.3 WMMR/Philadelphia radio legend Pierre Robert at age 70.
Police confirmed Robert was found deceased in his home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. No foul play is suspected; the cause of death has not been released.
A Philadelphia radio institution for over 44 years, Robert joined WMMR in 1981 and became the voice of the city’s rock soul, hosting the midday shift with infectious passion for music, listeners, and Philadelphia itself.
Best known for his signature “Greetings, citizens!” and warm, unmistakable voice, Robert embodied rock in all its forms—new and classic, alternative, punk, and singer-songwriter—whether on air, onstage, or digging through the MMaRchives.
