Omaha Radio: KFAB's Gary Sadlemyer Sets Retirement

iHeartMedia Omaha has announced that veteran NewsRadio 1110 KFAB personality Gary Sadlemyer will retire from his regular morning show and full-time radio duties, effective Friday, December 12, 2025.

Inducted into the Nebraska Broadcasting Association’s Hall of Fame in 2011, Sadlemyer began his KFAB career in Omaha in December 1976.

Over nearly 50 years with the station, he anchored KFAB’s Morning News for more than three decades, launched the first live daily talk show in the station’s century-long history, and served for several years as Program Director.

“Time sure flies when you’re havin’ fun,” Sadlemyer said. “Since I was a kid growing up in Minnesota, I had a passion for radio. It’s just like anything else—kids dream of being a doctor or whatever; mine was radio.”

His morning co-hosts of the past 25 years, Jim Rose and Lucy Chapman, will continue anchoring the station’s early-morning commitment to news, weather, traffic, sports, and engaging discussions on issues that matter to the community.

Mid-morning talk host and current KFAB Program Director Scott Voorhees, an Omaha native, will join Rose, Chapman, and morning news anchor Craig Evans.
