The Chainsmokers ended up on top as the biggest winners of the evening during the iHeartRadio Music Awards, taking home five trophies, including the all-genre Best New Artist award and everything dance trophy.
Behind the popular EDM duo came Drake and Twenty One Pilots with four wins apiece. Justin Timberlake collected the biggest award of the night when his Trolls tune “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” was named the Song of the Year, following in the footsteps of powerful past winners like Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and Adele’s “Hello.”

This year, Ryan Seacrest hosted the now-annual event, which puts the radio conglomerate into the award show business, according to Forbes.
2017 performers included Katy Perry and her collaborator Skip Marley pushing their new tune “Chained To The Rhythm,” Ed Sheeran mashing up his new singles “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill” (both of which hit the top 10 in the U.S.), Big Sean tackling his latest smash “Bounce Back” and The Chainsmokers beginning with their solo cut “Paris” before transitioning to their Chris Martin/Coldplay collab “Something Just Like This.”
With a televised event like the iHeartRadio Music Awards, it is primarily about the live performances, and even stars these big wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to showcase their just-released tunes.
