Eli Zaret |
Zaret is widely known for his coverage of the Detroit Pistons as a sideline reporter and for his blog, “Blue Collar Blueprint”, based on his 2004 book about the Pistons’ rise to their third NBA championship. Zaret’s career began in 1974 at WABX-FM in Detroit, where he was regarded as the "first FM sportscaster" in Detroit.
Zaret became the lead sports anchor for NBC affiliate WDIV-TV in the 1980’s and served a similar role at WABC-TV in New York, where he shared weeknight sports reporting duties with Corey McPherrin. Zaret was Sports Director for Detroit’s WCSX-FM and for WRIF-FM and served in the same capacity for WJBK-TV, where he was also Lead Anchor.
