WABC-TV NYC Reporter Attacked During Live Shot

A Jason Vorhees-wannabe attacked a reporter during a live news broadcast on the Lower East Side, startling video posted to social media on Saturday showed.

Accoridng to The NYPost, WABC-7’s CeFaan Kim was reporting on an attempted rape at around 11 p.m. Friday, when a man in a “Friday the 13th”-style hockey mask inserted himself into the shot, wrapped his left arm around the reporter’s shoulder, pointed to the screen and started to speak.

“Put the camera on me!” the man yelled. He then barked, “What’s up! What’s up!” repeatedly at Kim.

Producers quickly cut away to b-roll footage, but a video Kim posted to his Twitter account shows the brute shoving Kim, nearly to the ground.

Kim — a former U.S. Army Reserve sergeant — then attempted to confront his attacker, but the clash was broken up by members of the news crew and a passerby, the footage shows.

“I didn’t attack you — you attacked me!” the man claimed, while ripping off his mask.

The creep then ran off and hasn’t been found, police said.

“Guy totally snuck up on me. He wouldn’t get off me so I shoved him off and then he pushed me to the ground,” Kim wrote on his Facebook page Saturday.

He continued: “Thank you to my crew and the random stranger who kept us separated and calmed me down in the heat of the moment… because I’m not gonna lie… when someone puts their hands on you, it’s hard not to get amped up.”
