The NASH Next Challenge grand prizewinner will be signed to the new NASH Next record label, and all of the top 10 finalists will participate in a national NASH Next concert tour in 2016. The winner will be decided based on a combination of scores from the music industry judges, an original “Spin Index” of social media activity and online fan voting.

Today marks the beginning of the Final Challenge, where the 10 finalists who have been selected to advance begin competing in the NASH Next Music Video Challenge. During this challenge, each band will produce an original music video that incorporates computer animation or motion design under Borchetta’s mentorship. The winner will be announced on December 7, 2015.

The three NASH Next judges are legendary music producer James Stroud, award-winning Country music artist and radio personality Kix Brooks and Cumulus Senior Vice President of Content and Programming Mike McVay.

“The Nash Next platform’s first season has attracted some great new talent and I’m very excited to see how the contestants step up to the charge of creating a game-changing video concept,” said Borchetta.

“We are excited to welcome Scott as a mentor during the final phase of the competition,” said McVay. “Scott’s years of experience and eye for talent make him the perfect addition to the NASH Next team.”

As head of one of the leading independent record labels in the world, Borchetta has sold more than 400 million albums and shepherded 165 songs to the top of the charts. The label is home to superstars like Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Reba, Steven Tyler and Rascal Flatts among others. Recently, Borchetta served as a mentor on season 14 of FOX’s American Idol and was awarded the prestigious “Presidential Award” by the Music Biz Association in May 2015. In addition, Borchetta made music history by spearheading the “Music Has Value” campaign to raise consumer and industry awareness of why musicians should be compensated for their work.
