Phil Collins Ends Retirement

A bombshell bit of news Wednesday for Phil Collins fans: in a new interview with Rolling Stone, he’s announced that he’s preparing to work on a new album, and he’s planning a tour. This comes after four years of Collins saying that he was finished with recording and touring.

Collins is preparing to begin reissuing his solo catalog in January of 2016. The first two reissues – Face Value and Both Sides – were originally scheduled for November release, but they were pushed back due to Collins’ back surgery, so that he would be healthy enough to promote them.

As far as a Genesis reunion, Collins said he wanted to go out on his own first: “Let’s start with this [solo] bit first. I love the guys. I would just prefer to do this first. For now, let’s just see how this goes.”
