Chris Carr, one of the most popular radio personalities in town, leaves Hubbard's Country WUBE 105.1 FM B105 on Friday after six years, according to cincinnati.com.

The three-time large-market "personality of the year" winner at B105 said he's accepted a new job to be closer to his family, and he's taking morning sidekick Jeff "Maverick" Bolen with him.

The afternoon "Big Dave Show," with his on-air partner Chelsie, moves to mornings on Aug. 18 with morning producer Jason "Stattman" Statt.

For the past year, the Chris Carr & Company show was first or second in the morning ratings with Jeff Thomas and Jenn Jordan on WKRQ 101.9 FM, a sister Hubbard Interactive radio station down the hall. B105 ranked No. 2 with all listeners, behind WLW-AM, in July.

Carr came to Cincinnati in August 2008 from KEEY-FM in Minneapolis after B105 fired long-time morning host Bill Whyte.

"We had an awesome ride here and I have more love for this town than you'll ever realize. There are so many characters in Cincy and fun things to do and talk about on the air. I will miss this place," Carr said.

"Chris Carr & Company" won large-market "personalty of the year" awards from the Academy of Country Music (2013 and 2011) and one from the Country Music Association (2011). Carr also won a CMA "personality of the year" award at KEEY-FM.

During Carr's tenure, B105 won two Country Music Association large-market "station of the year" awards (2009, 2012).

Where is he going? "I can't say. He hasn't told us," Collins said.
