Art Angotti
Former radio broadcaster Art Angotti, who was known in Indianapolis as the "ultimate entreprene" has died after a 10-month battle with cancer.

He was 74, according to The Indy Star.

Angotti for years led Artistic Media Partners, which at one time owned as many as 20 radio stations in Indiana.

"It was such a great effort," said Jeff Smulyan, founder and CEO of Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications, who worked with Angotti on civic projects, which he said eventually led to his purchase of the Seattle Mariners. "It epitomized Art being the ultimate entrepreneur who just wanted to make stuff happen."

According to his obituary on Dignity Memorial, Angotti was born on September 25, 1944 in Gary, Ind., and "grew up in a large and loving Italian-American family."
