News/Talk WABC 770 AM welcomed Clive Davis, the iconic music producer and Chief Creative Officer at Sony Music Entertainment, to its Stage 17 performance space in New York City Wednesday.
Davis promoted the premiere of the music-themed documentary, "Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives”, which opened the TriBeCa Film Festival at Radio City Music Hall.
Speaking with 77 WABC entertainment reporter Mike “Gunz” Gunzelman, Davis discussed his early days in the industry as well as his years working with the legendary Whitney Houston and iconic artists including: Simon & Garfunkel and Bruce Springsteen. Davis also spoke of the vitality of radio to create hits and of his feelings about the state of music today, calling radio "vital".
Wednesday night's TriBeca Film Festival premiere of "Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives" will be followed by performances by: Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Earth Wind & Fire, Barry Manilow, Carly Simon and Dionne Warwick.
