Chicago Radio: WGN, ABC Radio News Partner On Talent

Ryan Burrow, news anchor and reporter at Cumulus Media news/talk WLS 890 AM, has been hired as a multimedia journalist at Tribune Media news/talk WGN 720 AM.

However, Chicago Media writer Robert Feder says the hire is actually part of a shared talent agreement with ABC News Radio.

According to Todd Manley, vice president of content and programming at WGN, Burrow occasionally will be dispatched by ABC to be on the scene of major regional stories.

He also will provide key reporting along with Vic Vaughn from the WGN newsroom covering breaking news with anchor Andrea Darlas during Steve Cochran’s morning show and throughout middays with reporter Kim Gordon, according to Manley.

Burrow most recently has been midday news anchor at WLS, where he’s worked since December 2012. At WGN he’ll occasionally fill in on the anchor desk as well.
