The appointment is effective immediately.
Richards will continue to serve as Program Director of Country KMLE 107.9 FM, while KZON PD Michael Coquia will work under Richards' direction. Richards joined KMLE in 2013 as PD. Prior to that, he was PD of crosstown Top40 KZZP 104.7 FM KissFM and show director for the Johnjay & Rich program.

Richards' radio career includes stints as Operations Manager at KRQQ-FM/Tucson, Regional VP/Programming for Clear Channel, Program Director of WKQI-FM (Q-95.5)/Detroit & WKQX-FM (Q-101)/Chicago and Assistant Program Director/Music Director at WBMX-FM (Mix 98.5)/Boston.
He began his radio career in Chicago with CBS Radio's WBBM-FM (B-96).
