Twin Cities Radio: Chris Carr & Company Headed To KEEY

Maverick, Chris Carr
CCM+E/Minneapolis has announced Chris Carr & Company will be the new morning show at its Country KEEY 102.1 FM.

The move is effective Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Carr announced his departure earlier this week as morning host at Hubbard;s WUBE 105.1 FM in Cincinnati (See Original Posting: Click Here)

"I'm so excited that Chris is coming home to K102," said Gregg Swedberg, VP of Programming for Clear Channel Minneapolis. "I think it's safe to say he and Maverick are one of a handful of brilliant Country morning shows and we are so fortunate to have them."

The move marks a K102 homecoming for Carr, who did afternoons there until 2008, when he left for WUBE.

"When I told my wife that we had an opportunity to move back home to Minnesota, I witnessed the brightest smile I have seen from her since our second child was born," said Carr. "We're all excited to reconnect with family, friends, lakes, ice skates and the awesome audience of K102! Plus, I get to do it with one of the most talented and genuine people on this planet, Maverick -- I’m excited for everyone to meet him!"

Current Wakeup Crew host Mike "Muss" Mussman will move to PM Drive and co-host Donna Valentine will take over evenings.

Current evening host Adam West will now focus on his afternoon show over on Classic Hits KQQL (Kool 108).

  1. I have been a fan of Chris and Maverick's since Chris arrived in Cincinnati in 2008 and started Chris Car and Co. We are very sad here that they are leaving us, but wish them both the best in the next phase of their journey. I plan to listen on-line to get my daily laughs. They always made my day. Good Luck guys and may God Bless You and your families! Minneapolis, you are a so lucky to have them!!

  2. I miss Muss and Donna so much in the Morning. I hope this was a good move for Muss and his family and not the Station pushing him out.

  3. I tend to surf the radio in the mornings and haven't been listening to K102 as much over the summer, but I always return to the morning show with Donna and Muss - not anymore! The humor was lame, too many news clips, no witty banter, it just all around sucked. Thank goodness we live in a metro area where there are plenty of other stations to listen to, but I have no idea why they'd take a good show like Donna and Muss and replace it with a snoozefest...

  4. I am from Northern Kentucky and listened to Chris and Maverick every morning. I truly miss them and wish them all the best. They both seem like very devoted family men and I will miss the stories they told. Maverick's laugh cannot be replaced.

  5. As well, I have listened to K102 for over 15 years but no longer. I miss the morning banter and do not like the new team . I have moved on to 102.9. Too bad , as K102 used to be the staple in my morning drive

  6. I want Donna and Muss back in the mornings. I no longer listen to K102 in the mornings, I don't like Carr's sick sense of humor and him calling people "dude", reminds of a 16 year old. You don't call a country superstar "dude", I find it to be disrespectful!

  7. I no longer listen to k102 in the morning. I don't like Carr's sick sense of humor, and him calling people "dude", what is he 16? I find it disrespectful that he calls country superstars "dude". Please bring back Donna and Muss.

  8. You have lost me as a morning listener too. Muss and Donna were exceptional. The time slots they are now in and being separate is a waste. Unless this was their idea you blew it. They are well known by the country superstars and now you have idiots so you no longer have me.

  9. People there just don't know what they have with Chris and Maverick. These two are "GREATLY MISSED" here in Cincinnati. I listened to them every morning and they made you feel "GREAT" just knowing that you were still here, feeling and breatheing!!!! They included you into their lives! They made you feel like a part of their family and in return you felt they were a part of your family. During the last 5 years I have had some tough times, but I could always count on "MY RADIO FAMILY" in the morning to help me get the day started when I didn't want to. Maverick's laugh alone could get a room started. Sure while the djs that replaced them were with the radio station before they are not as "GREAT" as these two were!! "CHRIS AND MAVERICK ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO COME HOME TO CINCINNATI!!!!!!!! WE LOVED THEM AND MISS THEM VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  10. We all know that change is hard for most people. I was willing to give Carr and Maverick a fair shot since I remembered Carr from his days here at K102. I certainly miss Donna and Muss - they are both awesome! I think Carr and Maverick need to check themselves and make sure they realize they are not in OH or right across the river in KY anymore. This is the Twin Cities and whether you like it or not you guys need to clean it up, and step it up a few notches!

  11. Muss was a blow with the political wind, non-country hack. Donna made it clear that she was not at all interested in anything representing country folks values and interests. Good riddance.

  12. the new morning show is horrible. i miss donna & muss - a lot! the senseless survey? stupid. that one dude's laugh? nails on a chalkboard. i hope the girl bails before that ship sinks - she sounds cute as a button. maybe they should bring donna & muss back and put her with them? not logical, i know, but even the music doesn't sound as good anymore. back to surfing for a new morning show, i guess...boo!

  13. I too no longer listen to K102 mornings. I am NOT a fan of Chris and Maverick nor the squeaky voiced girl. All a bunch of nonsense
now. Stupid antics. Stupid conversations. I have switched to Buzz'n but can't say I LOVE that one either. But it's better than
Chris Carr and Company. Not going back to them. Rather listen to
    boring WCCO that them!
